Jantel Lavender is a retired WNBA forward with more than a decade of elite professional experience in the United States and abroad. Known for her consistency, durability, and championship pedigree, Lavender built a reputation as a reliable frontcourt presence and respected locker room leader.
A Cleveland, Ohio native, Lavender starred at Ohio State University, where she became one of the most decorated players in Big Ten history. She was a four-time Big Ten Player of the Year and finished her collegiate career as Ohio State’s all-time leading scorer and the Big Ten’s all-time leading rebounder.
Lavender was selected 5th overall in the 2011 WNBA Draft by the Los Angeles Sparks, where she spent the majority of her WNBA career. She played a key role on the Sparks’ 2016 WNBA Championship team and was named WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year that same season. Over her career, she also suited up for the Chicago Sky, Indiana Fever, and Seattle Storm. In addition to her WNBA success, Lavender enjoyed a long and productive international career, competing at a high level in Turkey, Poland, and Italy. Overseas, she was celebrated for her professionalism, adaptability, and ability to anchor the frontcourt while mentoring younger players.
Off the court, Lavender is known for her discipline, professionalism, and team-first approach. In her role with UNLTD, Jantel’s passion for guiding, mentoring and advising young up-and-coming players, along with her pedigree, experience and relationships all all levels of the game (college, WNBA, internationally), positions her perfectly to help guide and advise young players in their journey through college, the WNBA Draft and beyond. Her unique knowledge and relationships in the game, and her exceptional understanding of collegiate and WNBA rosters, players, teams and executives are invaluable to guiding the careers of young players, on and off the court.
