Val has spent her career building purpose-driven brands through the lens of content, product, and experience design. Over the past 15 years she has worked alongside over 50 founding teams to transform their brands, execute ambitious go-to-market strategies, while developing deep relationships with founders, designers, investors and athletes. She most recently built and launched Curry Brand at Under Armour. As Global Head of Marketing for Curry, she worked alongside two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry and his team to lead brand and athlete strategy, marketing execution, partnerships, events, media and product marketing. A Baltimore native, her passion for the arts and sports led her to Syracuse University, where she earned a BFA in Film. Upon graduating, she spent her formative years at the Martin Agency producing for national brands such as BFGoodrich, X-Games, Ping, Hanes, and GEICO. She then moved to Silicon Valley to work with early stage start-ups, as Head of Production for West Studios. Alongside her business partners, she raised a $38mm first time, female-led, Venture Capital Fund and founded West Venture Studio to double down on a commitment to supporting purpose-driven brands. She is currently serving as Chief Brand Officer at Virtue Labs, a biotech and beauty brand and as Senior Advisor to UNLTD, where she helps lead athlete brand-building, planning, strategy and design.
